Description
Bruges (or Brugge), capital of West Flanders in Northwest Belgium is truly a sight to behold. The historic old town is filled with cobbled lanes, horse drawn carriages, medieval buildings and quaint canals, there are no shortage of picture postcard perfect spots to stop and admire the view. Pictured on the left is part of the delightful 'Beguinage' (Begijnhof) Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage site dating from the 13th Century, now operating as a museum where you can take a step back in time to experience life as it was in the middle ages and still occupied by around 25 Benedictine Nuns. Bruges is full of old wonders like this and as such makes for a very interesting place to visit. I added a little texture to Breathtaking Bruges to complete the vintage feel.

Thanks very much Ian, I appreciate that! I agree, Brugge is a lovely place, so quaint. Sorry to hear you got rotten weather, a bit of sun really does make a trip so much better. Maybe next time! :-)
