Artist's Description
A vintage map of the city and county of Baltimore, Maryland. This beautifully detailed map from the public domain is by J.C.Sidney, published by James M.Stephens in 1857. This city map was compiled from originall surveys and shows Baltimore as it was in the mid 19th Century. An inset at the right side features a new plan of Baltimore. This reproduction image has been color corrected and restored but still shows wear and tear due to age.

For me, half the challenge is in the initial taking of the photo, the looking for something that catches my attention, getting that perfect composition, but the other half is in the processing, the tweaking and twisting and the addition of a little imagination to see how much detail I can bring to the surface and hopefully let the viewer see the same as I did when I took the shot. My images have been shot here, there and everywhere, mainly in the historic cities of Europe and with the occasional one taken in my own surroundings...
