Artist's Description
A vintage, historical map showing the Territory of the State of Arizona in the year 1910. This detailed, nostalgic map from the public domain was compiled and drawn by Daniel O'Hare, lettering by Wm.Bauman, under the direction of I.P.Berthrong, chief of Drafting Division of the General Land Office and printed by the U.S Geological Survey. At the top left of the map, a legend shows the position of the state capital (Phoenix), county seats and boundaries, cities, towns, settlements and private land grants, the US Surveyor General's Office and the US Land Office, National Forests, Monuments, Game Prreserves, Indian Reserves and Military Reserves. Two inserts show the cities of Phoenix and Tucson in detail and a third shows the area of Sonora, Mexico, south of Arizona This image has been restored, converted to nostalgic sepia tone, and has a little hand blended texture.
About Carol Japp
I'm a travel photographer and photo artist. I like to explore every nook and cranny of anywhere I visit and I'm always looking out for something unusual or unique, weird and wonderful, interesting and intriguing. For me, half the challenge is in the initial taking of the photo, the looking for something that catches my attention, getting that perfect composition, but the other half is in the processing, the tweaking and twisting and the addition of a little imagination to see how much detail I can bring to the surface and hopefully let the viewer see the same as I did when I took the shot. My images have been shot here, there and everywhere, mainly in the historic cities of Europe and with the occasional one taken in my own surroundings...
