Description

Navigli is a charming, historic canal filled neighbourghood in Milan, Italy. In the evening, the banks of the Naviglio Grande overflow with life as revellers from all over the city flock here to enjoy a tipple or two in the most atmospheric of surroundings. You are spoilt for choice as you pass by bar after bar, restaurant after restaurant, each offering their own style of temptation. All tastes are catered for and you are sure to find something to enjoy at your leisure whilst savouring the ambience of this heady haven which is comfortably hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis. I took this shot at the end of a sleepy Sunday afternoon in autumn, the rain had just passed by and the sun was peeking through the clouds, just for a second before darkness fell and those seeking merriment descended upon the area. I hand blended a little painterly texture with my original photograph to compliment the old world feel of this classic Milanese street scene.
