Description
Ponte Pietra is the oldest and definitely one of the most beautiful bridges in the romantic Northern Italian city of Verona. The hill leading up to the castle is a wonderful vantage point for views like this and a perfect vista over the entire city. Crossing the Adige River, this Roman Arch Bridge has taken pedestrians across the water since 100 BC. Unfortunately, the bridge suffered serious damage during the second World War, when 4 of the five original spans were damaged but after rebuilding, this wonderful structure is back to its former glory. I hand blended a little texture with my original photograph to compliment the old world feel of this classic Verona river scene.
