Description
Located in the Swiss city of Basel, down near the riverside, St Alban-Tal is a quaint, romantic quarter known locally as 'Little Venice' due to the pretty streams and canals flowing through the area. Wandering around there one afternoon, I came across this lovely little path surrounded by giant trees and ancient lamp posts on both sides, the sunlight filtering through them casting a lovely light and shadows. Some of the trees I know were definitely chestnut as one fell and narrowly missed my head!! At the end of the path, in a picturesque setting, hidden between the river and St Alban Hill is 'St. Alban-Kirche', a beautiful old church built originally around 1270 and remodeled several times in the middle ages.
