Description
The tall spires of the Church of Our Lady of Laeken can be seen from elevated points all around the city of Brussels. The Church was consecrated in 1872 and was originally built in memory of Queen Louise Marie, wife of King Leopold I. The Royal crypt of this huge and imposing example of neo gothic architecture is the final resting place of all the former kings of Belgium and many members of the Belgian Royal Family. The building is also situated close to the Royal Residence. I hand blended a little texture with my original photograph to compliment the old world feel of this classic Belgian architectural image.
